Feeling invigorated, musically, and staying up late to practice and compose....okay, fine, I'm may also be watching some SG-1 in the background while I do various RH and LH drills...so sue me! It's one of the only shows I like anymore (or is worth seeing more than once, to me, anyways), so I've seen these episodes. That means I don't actually feel the need to pay attention to it. The late night may be also because I actually drank coffee today (2 cups) and cannot sleep yet.
Toying with the idea of joining a local choir. I've been on the sidelines long enough, after having our baby, then moving to a new city, then covid starting (and my dog dying 😭) all within a few months! I let my momentum and motivation wane WAY too much. Time to get going again! Eager to work with others and perform, and meet the other local talent, so to speak.
I'm also toying with the idea of seeing the Richmond Symphony Orchestra this weekend. They are doing some Brahms/ Radiohead mash-up. Now, I'm no Radiohead fan, but I am interested in hearing this project! The various symphonies are learning to branch out and do interesting new things, in order to stay alive by attracting new audience members. Some of it, I have no interest in at all (Please no twerking to Dvorak. Just stop). But something like this has the potential to be quite good, if done right. That's the big thing here: if done right. It's like symphonic metal bands. I ADORE the concept and it has so much potential, but bands that do even a few songs which I like listening to are so few, and only a couple have full albums which I want to listen to. I have high hopes though. We shall see!!
Stay tuned!
Also, just exactly what musically poo for brains is labelling genres on Napster? Apocalyptica is metal but Fleshgod Apocalypse is pop?!?!?!? uhhhh..........🤔🤔🤔...nope. That doesn't check out too well. Someone should play the two next to each other and try again. Oh boy.
